Auburn, wholesome, chocolately
wrapped me in their curly lashes.
My coffee cocoon.
They peered, stared, unearthed,
head to toe, top to bottom
X-ray vision, I would not be surprised.
Magical were these chestnut eyes.
They smirked and winked, caressed and kissed
butterflies, turning human to mush.
Soft as suede, supple as leather
unending vistas they withheld.
Held me captive, frozen at will.
And with the slight flicker let me melt
like a marshmallow to a flame.
Teasing, summoning, commanding.
Sugary sweet to barbeque hot,
dusky, smoky, caramel smooth.
I wax poetic but never can describe
those deep brown eyes
