A collection of poems I have written over the years |
Splitter splatter splash Silver raindrops fall upon Emerald-tinted leaves. *** Laughter rings in The unending silence of The black velvet night *** Gently peeking pink Delicate cherry blossoms Welcome the new spring *** Autumn The berries are shriveled and drying The grasses are tawny and dying The apples on the trees will soon ripen and fall, But the pines, unchanging, still stand tall *** Wind Cold invisible fingers wrap themselves around me Playing with my hair, my clothes Sweeping through my body like an icy river As the wind, my lover, caresses me *** Through the Mists of Morning Through the icy mists of morning, my soul returns to me. through the golden mists of morning, The fair sun kisses me. Through the silent mists of morning, Songbirds sing to me. Through the soft mists of morning, The Goddess embraces me. *** Swathed in cloths of old Holding the future in worn hands Hope shines in dark eyes *** Flying high above the trees Silver sky dragons Illuminate the evening clouds *** Redwood Behold the mighty redwoods, Who stretch their boughs, To greet the sky. Their lofty crowns part the clouds, Ever far, ever high. *** The Forgotten Goddess In the hearts and lives Of long-gone women She lived. In the prayers and songs Of priestesses of old She loved. In stories and poems Scarce heard, or remembered She spoke. In drumbeats and in fires Long since silent and cold She danced. Now in the dreams and hopes Of women like me She reigns again. *** |
