I have seen death, and felt the cold hands of grief upon my throat,
I remember the golden days,
the golden hair,
the golden smile,
and the golden laugh.
Much more than this i cannot say,
and it hurts to know,
how quickly i have forgotten.
but the tears never cease,
and the ice never defrosts,
it clings,
waiting to suck all happiness away.

You know not of pain and suffering,
they say to me,
I know more then you will ever believe,
I have seen death,
and felt the cold hands of grief upon my throat,
how they hurt,
as the ice covers all that is left.

To see life slip away,
to watch the closing of the eyes,
To feel the salty rain,
pour down upon the tiled floor,
and stand,
as the life,
drips slowly from your own soul.

I will not fear the darkness,
as her light,
will guide me towards the gate,
and she will walk beside me,
untouched by her earthly limitations,
and our years apart,
will mean nothing,
when we reunite,
in eternity.
