A cute story about how Chucki, a house cat, feels about life and how he deals with a rat
  Once upon a time, there was a cat named Chucki. He was very cute and attracted a lot of cat lovers when he used to be in the pet shop. Chucki is now 2 years old and lives in a big mansion with a very rich and luxurious family. But more of that later. The most amazing epoch in his whole life was the time he spent in the pet shop. The pet shop was his birth place. The pet shop indeed was the place where Chucki spent half his life. Boy did he remember that place. That was the place where his dear friends were. He didn't remember all the names though. Thinking about such a long time back made his face pucker up. But he did remember two or three felines who were very close to him. One was Goldeen and the other was Caramel. And there was another one. Chucki didn't exactly remember her name. Well, partly. It was somewhat like Ana-something. She was a beauty, honestly. It was funny that Chucki didn't remember HER name. SHE used to be a very important person in her life. 'Shame on me!' he still used to think. Then there was Shaban, the pet shop owner. He was a real friendly brute. You gotta admit he was very much like a giant kitty himself. But who could blame him? Spending nearly all his life taking care of cats had made him quite similar. But all the same, Chucki used to simply adore him. He used to think 'how could someone be better in the whole wide world than Shaban!?' Thinking about Shaban made him purr. He didn't know why that happened. It just came automatically to him, the purr. It was like some food had gone in his ever-hungry stomach. By the way, speaking of food;
  "Grrrrrrr", that was the sound of his stomach rumbling. Like thunder, yes. With a hungry mew, Chucki opened his eyes with a jolt. Hmmm, something smelled nice. Licking his nose, he got up and made his way towards the kitchen. It was just when he had reached the doorway when he saw the furry figure scuttling on the ground right in front of him.

    "MEOW!!" Chucki jumped back a few steps. His eyes went as round as a ball as his pupils dilated. There, right in front of him, was a rat! 'Such an insolent thing, staring at a cat like that', Chucki thought. The rat was indeed staring at him as if it was gone loco. Its pink nose twitched with curiosity and it rose up on his tiny plump hind legs. Chucki was shocked. Never in his whole life had a rat stood up to him, as if an equal! The feline was still ogling at the rat, aghast, when the fearless rat made its bravest move ever. It actually screeched and jumped up on Chucki's front leg! "MEOWWWWWWW!!!" Chucki was stunned! He was traumatized! And he did the only thing a cat does when in alarm, he spat at the rat. Hissed and spat with all his might. The rat, on the other hand, had no intent to let go. It was hanging on with its claws and jaws clamped tightly on poor Chucki's leg. The cheeky rat even had its worm-like tail wrapped around the leg. Chucki was horrified. After finally giving up, he rolled on the floor, crying to himself. If this was his end, then it was not in the least pleasant. Thereupon, as he was about to lose all hope of surviving, the door to the living room banged open.
  With anxious eyes, Chucki saw Linn, his mistress's 4-year-old daughter, not to mention the last person Chucki wanted to see at the moment. Things were bad enough without Linn having to chip in. He was about to die and the person he wanted to see was, Shaban! Oh, if only he could have burst in instead of that stupid Linn. The youngster couldn't go to sleep at night without pulling his tail or his whiskers or waking him up in the middle of his delicious meaty dreams. But the return of Shaban was bizarre. And impossible. He would have to bear with Linn or die a most painful death. He glanced at the rat clinging onto his poor limb and was irritated to see that it had closed its eyes and was in no mood to leave. Uttering a helpless sigh, the kitty mewed as loudly as it could. Linn stood in the doorway and pointed furiously at the rat. Then it came, the squeal. 'Oh boy', Chucki thought. He had almost forgotten that part. Of course every little thing that excited the kid resulted in a squeal, the frequency of which depended on the excitement of the thing itself. Right now, that excitement was the rat. And with any luck, Chucki. "Mum!! You got to see this Mum, look Mum, Chucki's got himself into twouble! Mum! Come quick, Chucki is fwightened!" This report was followed by the loudest squeal that a 4-year-old could utter.
  Mistress, Linn's mother, came running in, followed by her two sons. They stood for a few seconds gawking at the rat. Then it all happened rapidly. Mistress fainted. Lee, the 12-year-old boy, dropped his packet of chips and Corey, the 15-year-old boy, started laughing. During that moment of reactions, Chucki had forgotten all about the rat and how much pain it was causing him. Hell with the rat, this was clearly more exciting. His attention shifted to tiny Linn standing in front, as if the leader, and still pointing a chubby finger at Chucki. The family stood in the doorway, as if frozen, and the situation was a silent one. The only sound was coming from Corey, who was still giggling. Then it happened. The rat lifted his face, opened his eyes and froze. Looking questioningly at all of the humans, it made a final decision and hopped off Chucki's leg. And consequently, it made its way out of the kitchen, into its hole, as calmly as nothing had happened. The situation momentarily paused. Even Corey stopped sniggering. Chucki was dazed. The rat had done its job, made a tantrum, and gone serenely into its home. Chucki guessed the rat had punished all of them because he had stepped into the kitchen, interrupting the rat's time alone.
  This time, it was Linn who broke the hush. Speaking for all of them, she bubbled, "The wat is gone."
