The man is shown, the cards revealed; demons beware.
Crunches and sickening snaps filled the chill night air. Moans pierced through the deep veil of darkness lying in the Maine woods. Only thrice had the moon risen since the creature had been here, and already... this abomination existed. sounds of ligaments and muscle tearing from the human slaughterhouse continued. Bone and sinew snapped. And above the orchestra, almost orgy, of pain, a voice. It didn't speak; rather it slipped its purring hiss into one's mind.
"Yes, children," it said in a deep, caressing voice. "Squeal your misery to the stars, and let the moon shine red with your blood."
The purring, almost sexy, feminine voice gave way to another, deeper, masculine voice.
"Scream for our music, fools! SCREAM!" roared the voice and it lashed out at a human bound to a table which was split into two halves, each half slowly turning away from the other, tearing the man apart slowly and agonizingly.
The masculine voice cackled and the things hand lashed out, grabbed the humans head, and slowly began to wrench it forward until a spray of blood soaked the parched, droughted, hungry ground and the man screamed; screamed as his spine was turned into a lethal blade cutting through his stomach... his kidneys... his heart wrenched away from the thing that once helped the man live, causing him to cough up blood from his shredded lungs... there was a sharp pop, and the man ceased to struggle. His spine was ripped from his body along with his head and tossed to the side callously, just one more life to add to those wasted by this creature, a mound that reached into the hundreds of lives, starting from the beginning of man with Adam and Eve.
"Come, you've had your fun," came the voice of the feminine creature.
It walked towards another man, shivering and shuddering with fear and horror, bound with gore covered chains.
"Where do you come from, mortal?" it whispered and stroked his cheek.

The man didn't like the train. The raw, mechanical energy was alien to him and his ways. He was used to long treks and nights in the wood. The incredible speed of the train, however, was undoubtedly useful, and this he recognized, respected, and used. This he knew well; using something to one's own advantage. And so he rode the train, uncomfortable or not.

The situation he happenned to be in was a need to travel somewhere to work his trade. This trade he had had much experience and expertise in, stemming from a long time doing it. He was coming from far to the west, where he had gone to make use of his trade. The place was called Oregon, and the man had enjoyed the huge swaths of forests. But the call to the east had been urgent, and so he left, albeit reluctantly.

But still, the man in the black leather trenchcoat disliked the train as it screamed down the tracks towards his destination. He even disliked the people around him, who shot him strange looks and gave him a wide berth. He knew well why, however: his purple left eye and blue right eye was strange enough, but his deathly pale skin was even more of an anomaly on his figure. Only his face and hands were showing, but that was enough to cause unrest among those surrounding him. But no matter how much he disliked the people, he needed them. His work's targets were attracted to humans... to their prey.
