Knowledge is power. Gain it, but don't be proud of it. |
IN PRAISE OF KNOWLEDGE: an abcedarius poem Always, I have wondered if By showing our knowledge, Can we get more of the same? Do ignorance we bridge? Empowering is knowledge. Frequently , but, instead, Gracelessly we do announce, How much we are ahead! I think that we should know much, Just as much as we can. Knowledge is always welcome. Lack of it harms a man. Men and women should all try, Not to flaunt what they know. Ordinary are those who, Pompously try to show. Queens and kings may also be Restrained in some respect. Someone may lack knowledge, why That man be a suspect? Undeterred by others' jeers, Verily let's advance. Why, when, how, all forgotten, ‘Xcept we sing and dance. Yardstick, knowledge, is of man. Zap up knowledge if you can. • Written as an abcedarius poem in rhyme and meter, using abcb, 7-6-7-6 format.
