Cycles of life
Way Back When.......

Written by Eva A. Williams aka: EFSage

Way back when I was only ten.
Wanting to be a grown up then.
I was taking Life for a ride.
Running Free, I wouldn't hide.
I had no worries way back then.
Way back when I was only ten.

Way back when I was only twenty.
Life was good and I had plenty.
Of Laughter and Smiles to go around.
There was no way I'd settle down.
Had some worries, but not that many.
Way back when I was only twenty.

Way back when I was only thirty.
Allowing myself to shine for I was still pretty.
Worked and played and played and worked.
It was my Life and I wasn't getting hurt.
Now having more to worry.
Way back when I was only thirty.

Way back when I was only forty.
Still not crusty nor consorted.
Knowing now what I want in Life.
Meet my man and be his wife.
Many more worries now imported.
Way back when I was only forty.

Way back when I was only fifty.
Still not senile and still nifty.
Still could dance circles 'round.
Those young girls my boys had found.
Same ole' worries but now thrifty.
Way back when I was only fifty.

Way back when I was only sixty.
Boys still think I'm an ole' hippie.
Constantly dancing and swirling around.
You'd never catch me just sitting down.
Many more worries included with pity.
Way back when I was only sixty.

Way back when I was only seventy.
Flowers and Honeysuckles smelling heavenly.
My grandchildren bouncing at my feet.
Watching them play makes my heart skip a beat.
Much less worries and hello serenity.
Way back when I was only seventy.

Way back when I was only eighty.
I'm now more senile and much more crazy.
Still like dancing just I can't see.
But the songs were still inside of me.
Now no worries just a grand ole' lady.
Way back when I was only eighty.

Way back when I was only ninety.
Much more deaf and now less mighty.
Mother Earth is now my view.
My Goddess then had joined me too.
No more worries, thanks to the Almighty.
Way back when I was only ninety.
