Short survey given to my classmates about drugs and alcohol. |
Have you ever? The “Have you ever?” survey was given to my classmates in High School to see what students do on their free time and to also find out the drugalcohol consumption is among the student body. There were several factors that had originally motivated this research, the main reason would be curiosity, the curiosity to see how the world is changing and see how the upcoming generations are being brought up extremely differently from the past. The research objectives were simple; all that was required was to be taken seriously and honestly. Unfortunately the student body did not view it as important as some others. Other objectives were: *To see how many students use drugs and alcohol. *The frequency that the drugs and alcohol are consumed. *The comparison between male and females. *The comparison between the different ages among the school. All that data was conducted in person; I personally handed out the surveys, watched the students complete them and then collect them after they were done. There were only a total of five boys that agreed to take the surveys none of which that put their names on it. The statistics on the survey was out of every twenty students only five had done illegal drugs, a larger number of twelve had smoked cigarettes, six had abused over the counter drugs, four had driven under the influence, and a surprisingly good result of three students had done more than three different types of drugs, seven who do admit to drinking alcohol often on a regular basis, four out of twenty parents know about their children’s activities and five have had incidents that involved the police, nine students had been taking prescribed drugs that were not prescribed to them, and finally that only five people out of those twenty individuals had felt guilty for their prior engagements with drugs and alcohol. In conclusion, my school in Wisconsin is below the National average of teenagers who consume drugs and alcohol. Although few took the time to answer honestly, they did however take the time to fill it out. Could the results could have been better? Yes, of course but without parentguardians getting involved and a lack of supervision and discipline this is the result. |
