Three words that are so often used
Three words so often abused
Young cats say but don’t portray it
Always want it….just cause they say it

It don’t work like that
I hate to tell you
Respect, Commitment and Love
Has to "be" with a whole lot of work

It’s like
When you want something in life
You work to obtain it
Long days and nights
Rivers and streams
You can’t fake it

It won’t come to you…
You can’t create it
To taste it don’t make yours.

Respect Commitment and Love
Essential for any relationship

By essential I mean…Cornerstone, foundation
Do you know what that means?
Through good times and bad times and anytimes
It’s there…growing like a child

You can’t rush it
You can’t force it
You can’t take it
When it ain’t yours
It just is …sort of like God above

People proclaim it and relish it …wrap their arms around it
Demand it command it and sometimes write it down
Sign their name to it.....

But…at the end of the day
Respect Commitment and Love
Will come to you and it will open its door to you
And hold out its hand
Saying welcome home!

It’s a difference you see…and that’s why I say…
”don’t say”….
