you can only take so much before you snap
It's easy for people to live their lives
With their hearts filled with the light of happiness
But what about those that aren't so fortunate
The ones that live their life shrouded in darkness
Bottled up feelings of anger and neglect
From those around you who think they're superior

Does that mean their life is better than your own?
By accomplishing this they make themselves feel better
By bringing you down with taunts and ridicule
In the end making you degrade yourself

You wonder if they’re way is right
That if you were to become like them, your life would be better
So you begin to taunt those you think are beneath you
Or the ones that had tormented and abused you
Thinking that you should seek revenge upon them

They say you should ignore those that are ignorant
They're only jealous of the things they can't have
So should you bring yourself down to their level?
By bullying others that are like you
Those that suffer the from those that tormented you

Or do you rise above it all with a renewed attitude
And try and show them that you can't be broken
That no matter what they may say or throw at you
That they can't break you down to the point
When you start to act just like them

Sadly that's exactly what they want to see
That they can break you down that easily
They're trying to force you to become like them
Monsters getting pleasure from others pain
Pain caused by feeding lies of ridicule and abuse
Either you're not smart enough or pretty enough
Or that you’re weaker than them for not fighting back
And they'll relentlessly continue to do this
Hoping that eventually you’ll snap

And they continue to do this to countless others
Unless someone gets the courage to stand up to them
Showing them that they're wrong
That their words are only falling on deaf ears
That they can't break you as easily as they had planned
