Funeral March

- A memory to all those who have lost loved ones

Here I am

enraptured in my own world

a childish fantasy only fools dream of,

blinding, sheltering myself

from the stark, naked truth

Slinking away like shadows under the oak tree;

looking upon the wreath

grave yet strangely beautiful,

lain on my cold hands

hands that once threaded with yours;

a feeling so complete, now but ancient history

harsh and painful.

Here I am

devoid of all emotion

only an empty shell, a black void

Yet I still feel

those salty crystalline droplets caressing

that thin, silver thread of a lifeless soul;

As I place the wreath

upon the cold, heartless gravestone,

forcing my feet to lead me away

sealing the past

together with your gravestone

forever.
