I write silliness for my children, ages 3 to 10. This is one of those. This one was in honor of all the imaginary alter egos children create. I would still like detailed critique - writing for kids needs to be perfect! However, if you rate it, please keep in mind it's meant for kids. Thanks!
When I don’t want me in my head
I keep a me under the bed
It makes a lot of noise
It plays with my toys
And it’s hard to keep it well fed
This other me, the one in that nook
Can sing, dance, make kites, knit and cook
It plays basketball
It never feels small
And wears an eye patch, a peg leg and hook
This other me is tall, strong and brave
It could survive on its own in a cave
Living on worms
No worry 'bout germs
And occasionally needing to shave
This me just won’t go to school
It is never, no NEVER uncool
It can handle a sword
It plays harpsichord
And even at night won't drool
