A poem about fake people |
Fake folks What’s the one thing I can’t stand? Shammers, perpetrators, advantage-takers, time-wasters… I know you know one or two, maybe even a few Yep! It’s those fakers, false, phonies, frauds Some are dudes and some are broads But you know who I mean Say one thing, do another I’ll call you they say, but they mean when they need a favor I’ll see you later! Won’t hold my breath I won’t settle for less Little do they know I am a Ghetto Princess Well educated, so often underestimated Grew up in the worst of the worst, But my mom put me first, so I came out on top With class and style, a lady 24/7 But don’t mistake my smile And quiet demeanor I know you haven’t seen her, my other side I’ll let her hide till I need her. Cross me once, alright, your bad Cross me twice, could be the worst day you had. Me, I’m real, even with my fake ponytail Never fails, you’ll see the same me, inside I don’t hide. But those fake ones, wanna-take-from-you ones Oh they get under my skin, but I know they will never win For truth prevails and I’ll set sail On my realness, being me, for the truth always sets you free! ~M.G.~ |
