Soldiers

I see the men and women leave,

Their children half asleep.

They kiss their spouses,

And hold their head up high.

They fight for all people's rights,

Even if it means that they give up their life.

I know who they are,

Do you?

The news comes on,

And a few of the men and women are gone.

Half mast lies the flag,

To honor those lost.

These men and women are my heroes,

These men and women are soldiers.
