Relationships and love.
That Night

It was that night
I still remember how you smelt
The way you smiled at me
I remember how you looked at me, thinkin’ I didn’t see you
It was that night, that I go back to every night
The night that started the greatest love I’ve ever known

How does a blind date turn into love?
How does the real-true thing turn into nothing but doubts?
How can we go from doubt back to contentment?

The look in your eyes
Your simple random but sweet kisses
Constantly hearing ‘I love you’
All tell me that I am what you want
But what’s in that heart of yours
That even though you try and hide it, that I know exists
No more hiding
No more pretending
Be real with yourself
And with me

It was that night
I still remember how you smelt
The way you smiled at me
I remember how you looked at me, thinkin’ I didn’t see you
It was that night, that I go back to every night
The night that started the greatest love I’ve ever known

How can I get you to express yourself-get you to open up?
How can I show you that I wont ever leave you?
How can I make you believe that no matter who or what
may be against us, that we can make it?

Talk about babies and the color of rooms in our house
To talk about our relationship problems and splitting up
Where did it go
The sweet talking
To the cold shoulder
Where was the man that I feel in love with so long ago?
The man that I was finally proud to call my own?
Because for once I am ashamed and hatefully can say that
I am doubtful
Prove me wrong
Bring me back the man that I am love with
Go back to being yourself...but for yourself

It was that night
I still remember how you smelt
The way you smiled at me
I remember how you looked at me, thinkin’ I didn’t see you
It was that night, that I go back to every night
The night that started the greatest love I’ve ever known
