By: Mike Winkler

-------------------------------------------------------------

Opening Credits.

(Fade In.)

-Ext. Vincent‘s Back Porch Deck-

We see two familiar faces walking onto a back porch deck. It is Vincent and Erin. He is covering her eyes and guiding her walking.

VINCENT:
Don’t peek.

She smiles and starts giggling.

ERIN:
I won’t.

They continue to walk, and we see a blanket laid out on the deck with food, a picnic basket, and romantic music playing from the stereo.

VINCENT:
On the count of three, open your eyes.

ERIN:
Okay.

Vincent takes his hands off her eyes, but she still has them closed.

VINCENT:
Ready. 1, 2, 3 !

Erin opens her eyes and looks surprised.

ERIN:
Oh….

Erin looks around and sees everything.

ERIN:
It’s beautiful

VINCENT:
Only for the best woman in the world.

ERIN:
Thank you….it’s exactly what I needed.

She gives him a kiss.

They walk over to the blanket and sit down.
ERIN:
So, what do we have to eat?

VINCENT:
A little bit of everything. KFC, Arbys, Burger King. Basically heart attack food.

ERIN:
(giggles) Looks delicious.

VINCENT:
Always does.

They start eating.

VINCENT:
So…how was your doctor’s appointment today?

ERIN:
It went okay…he did all the necessary checkup’s and he said I am perfectly healthy.

VINCENT:
That’s great to hear.

ERIN:
How was work today?
VINCENT:
Uneventful…you know ever since I went undercover into Jared’s drug ring…I haven’t had any field action.

Erin touches Vincent’s face.

ERIN:
Pour baby.

Erin kisses his cheek.

VINCENT:
Yea, yea…laugh it up…

Erin laughs.

ERIN:
It’s okay honey, you’ll get some action soon.

VINCENT:
I hope so.

ERIN:
Who knows…I may have a little action in store for you a little later.

She touches her body in a seductive way.

VINCENT:
Sounds like somebody needs a little…spanking.

ERIN:
Am I being naughty, officer?

VINCENT:
Oh yes miss…I think I need to take you in for some questioning.

ERIN:
Take me away.

-Int. Vincent’s Garage-

Vincent pushes Erin up against the wall and starts to make out with her.

VINCENT:
Miss…stop resisting arrest.

ERIN:
I’m sorry…I’ll be more cooperative.

She turns around and pushes him back against the wall. She makes out with him and starts kissing down his neck.

VINCENT:
Thank you miss for your cooperation.

He picks her up and puts her on the table and unbuttons her pants a little and starts to have sex with her.

ERIN:
Give it to me officer. Teach me a lesson.

He continues to have sex with her.

-Int. Vincent’s Garage-

Erin is sitting up from the table and buttons back up her pants. Vincent sits up also.

ERIN:
How was that for some action.

VINCENT:
Just what the doctor ordered.

Erin kisses him.

ERIN:
I’m going to go in and make some dinner.

VINCENT:
Sounds good.

Erin walks down the stairs and into the house. Vincent gets up and opens the garage and walks into the back yard.

UNKNOWN MAN:
Good…you know what to do and how to handle it.

-Ext. Open Field-

MYSTERIOUS MAN:

I wont sir.
David hangs up the phone and walks down the sidewalk.

-Int. Vincent’s Kitchen-

Vincent gets no response from Erin. She has a depressed frown on her face.

VINCENT:
You okay?

Erin slams the spoon down on the floor and turns her back from Vincent.

VINCENT:
Erin what’s the matter?

ERIN:
Nothing.

Vincent walks over to Erin.
VINCENT:
Does this have to do with Jared?

Erin turns around and looks at Vincent.

ERIN:
Why would you say that.

VINCENT:
I just thought after everything you went through with him, it could have been bothering you.

Erin looks a little pissed off.

ERIN:
You have to understand something Vincent.

VINCENT:
What?

ERIN:
Jared wasn’t always a bad guy. There was a time when he was a really sweet guy.

Vincent looks a little puzzled.

VINCENT:
Like when?

ERIN:

VINCENT:
Oh really.

ERIN:
Yes.

VINCENT:
Well why don’t you explain it to me.

Erin then gets really pissed off.

ERIN:
It’s personal.

VINCENT:
Are you kidding me?

ERIN:
You know what Vincent. Just stop asking about Jared. You understand!

Vincent then backs off.

VINCENT:
Fine!

He turns around and storms out of the back door, and Erin falls to the ground upset.

-Ext. Sidewalk-

We see David, the man who was reading the newspaper, walking down the street. He is holding a small box in his hands.

Then, he takes his phone out of his pocket and dials a number.

DAVID:
Hey man…its David. Are you in on the job?

David nods his head.

DAVID:
Good…you know the drill…see you soon.

David hangs up the phone and keeps walking,

Erin turns around and looks him, while she is wrapped in his arms.

ERIN:
That’s ok, you got the drugs.

JARED:
Of course?

ERIN:
Good.

JARED:
So, you miss me?

ERIN:
Yea.

JARED:
Good. Hey…I found us a little secret spot over there for us. You want to see?

ERIN:
Sure.

JARED:
Lets go.

-Ext. Hidden Tree Gazebo Area-

Jared walks her over to the area.

JARED:

DAVID:
Thank you, sir.
They walk around the back and head towards the meter. They arrive to it.

VINCENT:
Here you are.

DAVID:
Thanks.

VINCENT:
You’re welcome.

Vincent turns and starts to walk back.

DAVID:
Sir.

Vincent turns back around.

VINCENT:
Yes.

DAVID:
You forgot something.

VINCENT:
What?
David picks up his metal suitcase.

DAVID:
This!

David swings it across Vincent’s face and he falls to the ground.

DAVID:
Now to find the bitch.

He walks up the porch stairs and heads inside the house.

-Int. Vincent’s Family Room-

Erin is still sitting on the couch, until David walks down the steps toward you.

ERIN:
Who the hell are you?

DAVID:
Your worse enemy!

She gets up and throws pillows at him and starts screaming.
ERIN:
Vincent!

DAVID:
Vincent is a little knocked out at the moment…can I take a message?

David grabs Erin by the throat and starts to choke her. She then passes out onto the floor, knocked out.

DAVID:
All to easy.

David picks up his phone and dials a number.

DAVID:
Sir. Phase one complete.

He hangs up the phone and walks back up the steps out the front door.

-Ext. Vincent’s Back Yard-

VINCENT:
Shit!

Then, we hear the door bell ring.

VINCENT:
What the hell!

Vincent walks up the steps and opens the front door. It is a man.

MAN:
Hello sir. I am Detective Banks. We received a call from an anonymous caller that there was a intruder on your premises.

VINCENT:
Yes there was. He assaulted me and my girlfriend, and then just ran off.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Are you both okay.

VINCENT:
I am. But, my girlfriend is passed out downstairs.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Damn. Can I come in and take a look at her?

VINCENT:
Sure.

Vincent lets him the door and he brings him downstairs.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Do you know exactly what happened?

VINCENT:
No. I was attacked outside. He must have come in and found her and did this.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Okay.

Vincent looks at him and doesn’t recognized him from the department.

VINCENT:
Detective?

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Yes?
VINCENT:
I am also a detective in this presiect. But, I have never seen you around?

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Oh…that’s because I just transferred over this morning from LA.

VINCENT:
Ah. Well…welcome to the force. I’m Detective Vincent Sanders.

Vincent shakes his hand.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Nice to meet you.

They break the hand shake.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Detective. Why don’t you do a search of the premises and see if the intruder is still around. Ill take of your girlfriend.

VINCENT:
I really don’t want to leave her.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
She will be okay, I promise.

VINCENT:
Okay. I’m trusting you

DETECTIVE BANKS:
No worries, Detective.

Vincent runs up the steps and out the back door.

Detective Banks leans down by Erin, and starts touching her hair.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Everything will be okay, darling.

-Ext. Vincent’s Yard-

We see Vincent looking around his yard, looking for any trace of the intruder.

He continues to look around, until, he sees a rifle laying on the ground. He picks it up and looks at it very carefully.

VINCENT:
Where the hell did this come from?

He looks at it with a puzzled look.

VINCENT:
Interesting.

He puts the gun down on the deck, and continues to look for the intruder.

-Int. Vincent’s Family Room-

We see Erin, still passed out, and Detective Banks sitting next to her.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Come on sweetie, get up.

Erin then starts to get up.

ERIN:
What the hell happened?

Detective Banks puts his hand on her shoulder.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
It’s okay, Erin.

Erin looks at Detective Banks.

ERIN:
Robbie?

Detective Banks has a smile on his face.

DETECTIVE BANKS:
Yes, Erin. It’s me.

Erin smiles back at him, and she hugs him.

ERIN:
It’s so good to see you.

She breaks the hug.

ERIN:
How did you get here?

ROBBIE:
Long story.

Then, Erin gets a little panicked.
ERIN:
Wait…where’s Vincent?

ROBBIE:
He went to look around to see if the intruder is still here.

Erin then gets up.

ERIN:
I have to go help him.

Robbie pushes her back down.

ROBBIE:
No. You need to stay here and rest.

ERIN:
Why?

ROBBIE:
Because I am your brother and I said so.

Erin then just sits back down, and Robbie looks at his watch.

ROBBIE:
Where the hell is taking Vincent so long?

ERIN:
Why are you in such a hurry?

ROBBIE:
I just have somewhere to be.

Erin looks a little puzzled.

ERIN:
Oh..well…I’m sorry this situation is such a bother to you.

ROBBIE:
It’s not! I just have to be there on time.

ERIN:
Then go! I don’t need you to babysit me.

ROBBIE:
I don’t want to leave you.

ERIN:
Apperantly, you do. Because being someplace is more important than being with your sister.
ROBBIE:
That’s not it, and you know it.

ERIN:
Whatever Robbie. Just do me a favor and just leave.

Robbie stands up and starts to walk away.

ROBBIE:
Fine. If that’s the way you want to be, then fine.

Robbie walks away in a mad rage, and Erin just sighs loudly.

-Ext. Open Field-

We see Robbie walking into the open field toward a man with his back turned to him.  As he approaches him, we that it is David, the man that attacked Vincent and Erin.

ROBBIE:
David.

Robbie stands face to face with him.

DAVID:
Robbie. Is everything going as planned?

ROBBIE:
Yes, sir. Erin trusts me.

DAVID:
Good. We have to continue playing this game and leading them to us.

ROBBIE:
Yes, I know. But…I have to ask, why are we doing this?

DAVID:
Because Jared wanted us to finish them for all they did to him, and now we need to make them pay for it.

ROBBIE:
I understand that, but, she is my sister. I cant kill her.

David approaches him slowly.

DAVID:
You will do what I tell you, and when the time comes, you will follow through with what you have to do, you understand.

ROBBIE:
I know, but…

DAVID:
(interrupts) No but’s Robbie, just do.

ROBBIE:
Yes, sir.

DAVID:
Now, go find Vincent. I need to have a little chat with him.

ROBBIE:
Okay.

DAVID:
Good, now go.

Robbie walks back toward Vincent’s house.

-Int. Vincent’s Family Room-

Vincent comes in the front door and walks downstairs to Erin. He sees that she is awake.

VINCENT:
Erin, you’re okay?

ERIN:
Vincent, I was wondering what was taking you so long.

VINCENT:
It’s okay, im here now.

ERIN:
What a relieve.

Vincent looks around.

VINCENT:
Where’s Detective Banks?

Erin has a puzzled look on her face.

ERIN:
Who?

VINCENT:
The Detective that was here watching you while I was gone.

ERIN:
Oh…he wasn’t a cop.

Vincent looks surprised.

VINCENT:
What do you mean?

ERIN:
That guy wasn’t a cop, he is my brother.

VINCENT:
What!

ERIN:
My brother Robbie

VINCENT:
He told me that he was a detective, he said his name was Detective Banks.

ERIN:
Why would he do that?
VINCENT:
I don’t know, but I sure has hell want to find out.

ERIN:
Please Vincent, its no big deal.

VINCENT:
If it’s no big deal, why would he like about who he is to me.

ERIN:
Just don’t worry about it.

VINCENT:
I cant. There is just something not right about all of this, and I am going to get the bottom of it.

Vincent walks up the steps.

VINCENT:
Stay here, ill be back.

He walks out the front door.

Ext. Vincent’s Front Yard-

Vincent walks out the front door, and he is looking for Robbie. Then, Robbie approaches him.

ROBBIE:
Vincent. How’s Erin?

Vincent looks at Robbie, and gets angry. He charges him and shoves him to the ground and starts puching him.

VINCENT:
You lied to me!

He continues to punch him.

VINCENT:
You’re not a cop!

He keeps punching him.

VINCENT:
You lying fuck!

He finally stops punching him.

ROBBIE:
(breathing heavily) I didn’t lie to you.

Vincent gets off Robbie.

VINCENT:
Yes, you did. You’re not really a cop. You are Erin’s brother.

Robbie smiles evily.

ROBBIE:
(little evil laugh) Looks like you got it all figured out. What did my bitch of a sister tell you.

VINCENT:
A bitch?

ROBBIE:
Yes, a bitch!

VINCENT:
Why are you really here?

ROBBIE:
I guess the picture hasn’t become clear to you yet.

VINCENT:
What?

ROBBIE:
Oh well…I guess I will just have to let my boss explain it to you.

Robbie pulls a gun out from his back, and fires it at Vincent. It hits him in the neck, it is a traqulizer dart. Vincent falls to the ground and passes out.

(camera fades out)

-Ext. Open Field-

(camera fades in)

We see Robbie and David hovering over Vincent, who is still passed out.

DAVID:
Where’s Erin?

ROBBIE:
She is still inside Vincent’s house, sir.

DAVID:
Good. Let’s keep her there for a while.

ROBBIE:
Yes, sir.

Vincent then begins to wake up.

DAVID:
Well, well. He awakens.

Vincent then begins to stand up, but David kicks him back down to the ground.

DAVID:
I will tell you when you can stand up.

Vincent’s mouth is filled with blood, as he remains on the ground.

DAVID:
Do you understand why you are in this situation, Vincent?

VINCENT:
You! You’re the guy that came to the house to check the meter. You’re the one responsible for beating me and Erin up.

DAVID:
I’m touched, you remembered me.

VINCENT:
Fuck you!

DAVID:
You don’t understand why this is happening.

VINCENT:
Why?

DAVID:
Because of something you and Erin did.

VINCENT:
Like what?

DAVID:
We will get to that later.

Vincent begins to feel light headed.

DAVID:
Oh..where are my manners. I forgot to intruduce myself. The names David, and I work for someone that you know.

VINCENT:
Who?

DAVID:
The person I work for is someone that your little bitch killed.

Vincent looks shocked.

VINCENT:
Jared?

DAVID:
That would be correct.

VINCENT:
If that’s true…

Vincent looks at Robbie.

VINCENT:
Then what are you doing here Robbie if your Erin’s brother.

ROBBIE:
I will let my sister explain the story.

David takes a device out of his pocket.

DAVID:
See this…the device I am holding in front of you is a tracking device. I am going to implant it in you, and after I do, you will go talk to Erin about all this. And If you try to call the cops, or try to get away from your house…I will find you.
