A poem inspired by a meeting with my current girlfriend.
You've waited for me,
Not knowing when I'd appear in your doorway again.
Hopefully not in vain –
Here I am –
I said I was coming, and now I'm here.
Your face cannot hide its tearful joy.
You run into my arms, and we share a moment of intimacy;
Together at last; apart for too long.
You say how much you missed me, and I, how I missed you.
Then we kiss, and share what we've done apart all this time.
Our fire, love, and attraction is so unwavering and intense,
As you close the door behind me,
Welcoming me into your quiet, decorous home.

What joy I feel, so calm and energetic!
Your jokes and stories are told with such humor;
Your laughter as we hold hands
Surrounds my soulful belly with the golden rays of the sun.
I am quick to laugh and respond with knowing care,
Full of jubilation, as all of your tales end
With you being alright and healthy.
You have taught me so much about love, honesty,
And courtesy, as we share our true love in such timely,
Welcome moments.
You'll always be in my heart, and I, yours.
We separate knowing our next encounter will come soon but that
We will both have to wait for what seems an eternity.
Finally, we part.
Bye for now, my sweetheart and true love!
