a thing i wrote
It’s magic. You can turn a circle into a line. Well I’m pulling down the curtains and exposing all you are. What’s the matter? Never been exposed? Well there’s a first time for everything. Baby, this is everything.
Knocking on the door, asking for truth. He’s not home. He never is. Is he even alive? Or did he suffocate under your mass of lies? I’m pulling down the curtains. You’ve never been naked for me. You’ve never undressed from all your lies and deceptions.
This is the fork in the road and the knife in my back. The blade in your hand piercing my soul, don’t let go. Push it through the other side. This is the fork in the road and the spoon at your mouth. Gathering all of the shit that gushes out. Well, it’s futile. There’s no spoon in the world that could hold it all.
It’s a miracle. You can turn water into wine. Am I your “Mary Magdalene”? Oh, don’t stone me! I’m sorry, is it all my fault? I didn’t notice. Here, sit down; let me wash your feet. Too bad you would never die for anyone. Not even yourself. This cross is yours to bear, but guess who has to carry it?
Walking down the road and hearing your voice, I turn the other way. I don’t want to play, with your lies and your fake cries. You’re not real. You’re synthetic. Did you really think you would make it out alive? What do you stand for? You can’t stand at all with the loss of your legs.
Baby, I’m going down, but I’m pulling you down with me. Hold on tight, but those lies of yours won’t hold for long. Just one tug, and it all unravels. Condemning your fall, with nothing to ease your descent.
Baby, I’m going down, but I’m pulling you down with me. Hold on tight, but those lies of yours won’t hold for long.
