When thoughts are too deep for telling in prose,
When sentences and phrases can’t suffice;
When words and feelings just cannot come close
Then recourse to poetry take the wise.
When words are overshadowed by meaning,
When logic overrides the expression;
When writer simply writes as he’s dreaming
But rules of language mar his intention;
It’s then that poetry assumes a shape,
When tears drip from a heart that’s broken.
A poem consists not only of words,
Its each word is, of feelings, a token.
The wounds of heart a true poem does nurse.
What can’t be healed by balm is healed by verse.
