MY GOD FIRST LOVED ME

People ask me how I can serve an invisible God,
They cannot understand why I do,
But to me it is not all that odd
Because the God I love, loves me too.

They also ask me how do I know He does,
Because this God also allows pain and death,
I tell them it is by faith that I know He does,
For He sent His Son to die my death.

The people of the world think that God is a crutch,
That He is only a part of our imagination,
They say He does not amount to much,
They just cannot see His hand in action.

God is working in the world today,
And all people can see it if they try,
He is working in a dynamic way
Answering every troubled cry.

It is up to us to show the world our God in action,
That there is a God and that He welcomes us in,
It is not that we first loved Him in our situation,
But that He first loved us, in our sin.
