This is about my daughter.
My Daughter

I carried her for nine months and
endured the pain of birth.
There she was.
A dream come true.
A miracle.

She became my pride and joy.
She was all I lived for.
She was my little shadow.

I taught her to be strong.
I taught her to be independent.
I taught her to stand on her own.

Now, she is strong, independent, and stands on her own.
Still my pride and joy.
No longer my shadow.
She is my friend.
