Here are some symptoms of teen depression;

*Sadness or hopelessness *Changes in eating and sleeping habits

If you are feeling more than one of these symptoms, you could be depressed. More than one million teenagers a year are found to be depressed. Some people believe that depression can only be overcome with medication. But it can be overcome without medication. In my opinion, all you need to overcome 0depression is love and care from someone. Depression is a dangerous illness that can claim lives. If you hear a friend or loved one speak of suicide, please always take it seriously. It usually is a cry for help. If they begin to give away their belongings, or get their affairs "in order," it could be an indication they are planning something. Always take action immediately! If you yourself are depressed, or think you may be depressed, tell somebody that you trust. Know that you are not alone and that many other people have gone through and are going through what you are. Try getting out of the house, or taking up a hobby to keep your mind off of your depression. Instead being a bystander, be positive towards classmates, even a smile can make a difference.
