A poem from my heart to another |
Love; so sweet yet so frail Like a candle in the window pane on a midnight breeze As it gently lifts one spirit, it slowly crushes another And yet in the end all that matters are three simple yet overly complicated used words I love you Three words of such great meaning, great allure Like a flicker of light or a battering heartbeat in a storm of desire Three words of truth that are beyond ability to express Yet in the same, all is lost to a doomed hope when two depart Such is that of a man leaving a candle in a window for his lost son to return Or that of a loving, caring woman awaiting her other half to return home All the same that flicker in a window like a beacon of hope lights up hearts Like that of the warm gentle embrace of the rising sun That one little word of necessity is all the heart needs to know it’s home As faith and hope give a man direction is nothing if not accompanied by love As “when love is when you see God in someone else’s eyes”, home isn’t the journey As it’s love that keeps the candle burning for that reason a person doesn’t know They’re truly home until they’re in the arms of the one they love And both together are in the arms of our father above Keep that candle burning no more; I’m home I love you I don’t know how to express it enough What I cannot be God can I love you with all my heart And no matter what happens I always will And should I ever lose my way promise me this Light a candle in the window pane for me and I promise I will always find my way back home to you |
