This is the second episode of my work.
Chapter Two: Retreat “Read my words. Learn what I told. You, The Readers. Are my masterpiece.”
“We must move. We are in Nagi North Road, in The Nage’s Territory.” Classic warned. Jenna nods and grabs my hand, then tugs me with her as she comes with Classic and Arctica. Who are the Nagi? Are they the enemy? Are they my real rescuers? The name alone is sounds like vulgar. Why Classic seem bothered by the Nagi? My only guess is that he knew them and had got on their bad side. Dragged like I’m her only daughter during the Searing, I ran and get tugged with Jenna, who was following Classic through the bleak wasteland. “Where are we going?!” I yelled to Classic. “To me and Jenna’s attuned friend’s territory, Autumn Territory.” Classic answered. “What with names like Nage and Autumn?” I asked Jenna. “This land is separated and controlled by many leaders, each leader have their own people.” Jenna responded. “Like the Kurzick and Luxon of Cantha? Like factions?” I could not believe that there are so many Factions in this land. “No, they rather called themselves, Clans.” Classic answered. Over the fifth hill, I saw a sea of green and pure grass, further ahead is a massive forest. “There! Home Stretch if we did not get any following us!” Classic yelled. We ran faster and all of us fall on purpose, upon the lustful, green and soft grass. We made it, but I felt weird, I look and realized that I fell on Classic. “Ohh.. Excuse me? Aren’t you a little too big to use me as a bed?” Classic asked as he groans in pain. I apologized and get off of Classic as he gets up. I heard something and look around, we are surrounded by rabbits. I was about to pet one of them, the rabbits transform into elves, one of them is a human like me, wearing armor of leaves, leather and branches, She look like the leader because she raised her hand into a salute and the elves does the same. “Welcome to our territory. Can you please follow my men to our capital?” the leader asked. Classic helps Jenna up and we follow them into the forest. After following them through the forest for some time, I see a large village, made by colossal trees. I was fascinated and curious, is it natural or magically made? It seems to be shaped for them by Melandru. We were escorted through a gate of massive roots and thorns, an elf approaches Classic and Jenna. She is wearing a graceful and elegant gown, made only by colorful leaves of orange, red, yellow and brown, a crown made very elegantly from healthy roots. She is fit for royalty, my guess is that she is the princess. The party leader kneels before her, “Clan Lady Autumn, we had found those you may recognized.” he said to the princess. Wait... Clan Lady? Like a Queen? But where is the charming king? I heard very heavy footsteps coming from behind her, I had a hunch that the villain will be coming for her. I was wrong again, a unnaturally strong man came and stands beside her. The man was wearing what it looked like layers of protection, Plate, Chain, Leather, Cloths, and then a chain mail trench coat. His helmet is thick like his armor, a lot heavier than his large sword which he carries it with one hand. His shield is so huge, it is impossible for anyone see over it and it is heavy enough to send a yeti off its feet with only one shield bump. He walks around like it is nothing. “Aha! I knew that a run in the Nage Territory does not mean a death wish! Backer owes me platinum!” the armored man exclaimed. Well, their land is not so bad... They use the same currency as my kind does. “Who is the Tyrian, Classic? Another adventurer?” the Clan Lady asked. “Ari, I found her during my assignment at The Nage Territory.” Classic answered, “I came along before she was cut up by Nagi Thrashers, I guessed that my timing was off and this one got wounded before I killed them.” Classic explained. The armored juggernaut laughs, “Sounds like you are getting rusty on your entrance.” The others laughed with him, including Classic. I did not get what so funny about Classic being rusty. “I managed to slow the effects of The Thrasher’s Dagger, but we had to tend to her as soon as possible.” Jenna warned. Whats so bad about The Thrasher’s Blade? Is the blade poisoned?! Why I’m the one to be killed off so easily?! “Jenna?! Whats bad about the blade?!” I feared it is fatal. “The Thrasher’s Blade is made to make a wound deeper so you are still wounded from the inside.” Jenna answered. “Stranger, follow me so we can get you to heal faster before that wound opens any further.” The Clan Lady beckoned. I followed her into a room inside one of the trees. Four men enter into the room, looking like the monks at the Ascalonian Academy of Heroes, but their armor is made by roots that they probably bend together and they are wearing a hood that is made by soft twigs and leaves. One of them instructed me to lay down on the bed of roots and leaves, I do so. The four sits and meditates, I was thinking that they are going to heal me, I’m going to die if the healers are going to just sit around. I feel the bed starting to move, before I could respond, the bed encloses me like a cocoon. It is like being buried in sticks and leaves, I felt like it is my coffin, my deathbed. I began to feel a slight jabbing on my wounded leg, then a sharp stabbing pain. Something is inside me, doing something to the wound, and then I felt that thing injecting something in me. Finally that thing has got out of my leg, but it injecting the same stuff on my leg. The cocoon had open up and I saw my wounded leg covered with what I think is tree sap. “It is done, you are free to go.” one of the healers said. “What with the cocoon and the sap?” I asked to the healers. “The cocoon is to keep our patient from moving around during the healing. The sap is acting like a second surface, like bandages but more efficient.” the second healer explained. The healers leaves and I walk back to the others. I saw Jenna and The Clan Lady in the largest tree of the capital, I think is the palace. Classic and the armored guy are nowhere in sight, I start thinking that they could be going to a tavern, enjoying a drink or two. I come over to Jenna and The Clan Lady, hoping for an interesting conversation, unlike listening to the girls in my class back at the Academy, who keeps talking about Vassar and other prodigies of spell casting, they even chat about Prince Rurik and Lady Althea. As I yelled, “Hi Jen...” I got floored by the Arctic Wolf, Arctica. The only thing that’s very odd about Arctica is the fact that she did the dirty jobs, but still remains as clean as a polished sword. Arctica got playful and starts teasing me by knocking me down every time I try to get back up. She managed to stop and walks to Jenna. I got up and walk over to the table they are sitting at. “I’ve heard that Clan Lord Hellcaster is helping the Hellcasters rebuild the Academy. I hoped the Academy did not suffer the same fate as what happened during the first page of Clan Wars II.” The Clan Lady said, worried. “Yeah, the attack had at the Academy caused a great loss of promising new adventurers and heroes.” Jenna responded. I was surprised this land also have problem. Clan Wars II? It is sounded like the Guild Wars, but there is more wars in this land than Tyria, my homeland. I got curious about The Clan Wars, so I asked, “What is The Clan Wars?” The Clan Lady and Jenna looks at me like I was not supposed to be here. “The Clan Wars is the time when a Clan commits an act that cause the battle, then more and more Clans starts picking sides, then the land became the battlefield. There is a special competition that is held twice a year to contribute those who died in the three wars.” The Clan Lady explained. I listen as they talk, playing with Arctica. “It is late, the sun is resting, and we should do the same.” The Clan Lady told us.
