As ties that bind us slowly unravel

and unspoken words are said.

As words as cold and hard as steel

pierce us and bleeding us slowly

changing us from within and outward

adjusting our view of the world

transforming us for the better or worse

Still we continue to push past

learning from our mistakes

and arise over them

tired yet proud we stand again

this time on our own power
