BEGINNING PAGE TO SILVER FANG |
Ginger softly cradled her newborn son in her arms, wrapping him in the only thing she had with her, her Grandmother’s shawl. It would have to do for now. The sun was quickly setting and the moon would soon be full. The father of the child, senses would soon be at their peak and he would be able to pick up her scent. She had given birth to her son alone in the woods, hoping to conceal his arrival. But time was running out. The days last dancing rays of light were swiftly fading. There wasn’t even time to count his tiny fingers and toes. She had to hurry and get out of the country as soon as possible. Ginger would not allow her son to bare the curse of his father. The man that she didn’t even want. She had been forced to conceive this child. Violently rapped by the animal that she now had to call her husband. She would save her son from this curse that the moon brought out. Even if it meant losing her own life. Quickly and silently she held her son tightly and stepped into the creek. The water was ice cold and stung her skin, as it was early October. Yet she hoped the water would help to hide her scent and throw him off her trail. As the moon filled the sky she heard his howls of rage echoing through the darkness, rising above the tree tops. Her heart raced with fear, yet the will to save her son was stronger. Her body was still exhausted from giving birth and her feet were now numb from the chilling water, yet she pushed forward. This beast would not get her son. She vowed her life on that promise. |
