When kingdom is faced with impossible odds, what are they to do?
[Introduction]
In the world of Larka, a world filled with water and little land, there are seven countries. Gango, Lusa, Orin, Fargo, Puntab, Dungury, and Linua. The countries leaders all sign a pact saying that no wars would stain the lands after a disastrous thousand year war that nearly destroyed all the lands. It was an event that no one wanted a repeat of. All countries signed it, all...except Dungury, the eastern most kingdom. Also the land that had the least damage done to it.

The leaders of Dungury thought that they were superior to all. They believed that they should rule the land. Luckily, the leaders of the other six formed an alliance and Dungury never attacked, but no one has ever gone in and no one has ever come out. Dungury had closed its boarders.

That was four hundred years ago. The leaders of the Old Regime are now gone, the Great Alliance, broken. Now, in five short...but long painful years, Dungury opened its boarders, but only for their massive army to come out killing and conquering all in their path. In five years, they had conquered all, all except Orin and Lusa.

The leaders of Lusa was lucky enough to divert the war away from their lands, protecting the scared people. Dungury promised not to attack, or even set foot in Lusa as long as they did not aid Orin in any way. The only problem with the agreement was that Lusa was in between the two biggest and most powerful kingdoms in the land. Dungury tried to invade Orin by sea, but the waters on Larka or unforgiving and merciless.

Dungury's king was tired of waiting. He would invade Orin through Lusa. The Lusan leaders and their people protested, the king had broken his agreement. Instead of pulling his army out, the Dungurian king declared war upon Lusa. Lusan leaders knew this day would come, yet it came all too soon. They had gathered an army, perhaps strong enough to stand against Dungury. Dungury would overpower them in numbers, the leaders had no doubt about that, but the least they could do was hold Dungury back, hold them and keep their land. Once again, Lusa, the country that was damaged the most during the Great War over a thousand years ago, was plunged into the hell that is war.

The Lusan leaders sent to Orin for aid, as they knew they would need. Orin leaders, strong as they may be, were cowards at heart. They refused to send even one man in aid, instead they closed their boarders and strenthened all their defences at the boarder. Lusa, dwarfed compared to the massive Dungurian kingdom, stood alone.

Campfire Notes:

1. Keep language reasonable, it is a war so I know that there will be "bad" language.
2. Relationships are good, I like romance in war stories, just not to mushy
3. Well, this isnt really mainly a war story, it's fantasy, so yes, elves, faries, any other fantasy creature you can think of, or make up, is fine. I have only one request, try to keep them humanoid creatures.
4. Magic is there too, but please no time travel, seeing the future, or anything like that, I just find time travel to be annoying and seeing into the future is just unfair...
5. Dont make your person too powerful, yea, Lusa is supposed to have strong people to match the sheer numbers of the Dungurian force, but they arent gods.
6. You can choose between Lusa, Dungurian, or maybe Orin, but Orin doesnt want any part of the war; or you can choose to be a rebel native to one of the conquered lands.
7. Have some fun, make some funny parts, make sad parts, make a little of everything, let your imagination flow in this story.
8. Oh yea, send me a character bio, I dont like the story to be littered with seemingly random bios in the middle. I know some dont like doing them but you dont have to be too descriptive, I like leaving a little for the imagination of the readers.
9. If you are a part of this campfire, please use proper writing, as in paragraphs and other standard things, and please double space the paragraphs, it's easier for me to read them that way.
10. I will be doing the three day skip, unless you send me something telling you need more time.

Well, this is were I put the characters, please model your bio after mine. You dont have to reveal your person's personality or background, as it should be uncovered as the story progresses. Same with any skills or magic. Just add a little "other" information.

Cephlo walked around his village. He grew up in this village. It was a small village, only about ten hut were built in a circle around a small market-like area, were the villagers traded crops they grew behind their houses. He loved this place, it was one of the few peaceful places left in Lusa. It was surrounded by leagues of forest. The nearest city or town was about ten leagues away.

Ceph looked around, the people were going about their regular lives, as if the war was never happening, but he could see it in their eyes, they were scared. He knew that this village would be found one day.

He walked to the edge of the forest. He watched his friend since childhood playing in the trees. Karin always loved climbing the trees. She was always agile, she could climb across the trees faster than some of the tree animals.

"Hey," Ceph called up to her, "Ophum needs you for something."

She climbed down with a speed that always suprised him, "What does he want?"

"I dont know, he just told me to come get you, and he said to hurry up."

"He always tells me to do something that has no point to it..." she made her pouting face, most people in the village could never be mad at her if she put that face on; but Ceph was used to it by now. He hit her softly on the back of the head.

"Come on, he said he needs you, he said that there is some of his wife's cooking in it for us."

"Oh? Your working with me on this one?"

"Yea, this time I am, he says that it has something to do with the city."

"Oh really!?" She loved to go outside of the village to see what was going on outside, even if it was a war, "Lets go," she said running ahead of Ceph, "Hurry!"

"Im coming," Ceph said, walking after her.
A Non-Existent User

“Milord!” Ilya and Lago, both are Lord Arken’s most loyal knights, companions and friends immediately greet him as he entered the room.

How is the discussion with the council?” Lago curiously asked about the situation.

“As expected, we cannot receive any military aid from this country. Fortunately, they agreed to accept the refugees from our Kingdom as well as including our remaining legion into their army. The catch is they expect me to keep quiet about my identity and prohibit me from leaving the castle compound.”

“How about Her Highness?, we have to save her immediately.”

“My sister will be fine. Dungury feared her power and will try to keep her restrained. If they manage to kill her, the people would raise their weapon and fight till their last breath. She and Dungury wouldn’t want that.”

Lord Arken tears up a scroll and put it in his face, as he lifts the scroll, an image of his face appears in it. Lago and Ilya quickly understood their master’s thought. Ilya, the only female knight that served him swiftly brought a bowl of water. Arken put the scroll in the bowl. The scroll immediately dissolved in the water.

“Lago, you know what to do. I want you to ask Rondo and Juste to check out our legion and the refugees. Don’t move the soldier without my command although I agree to help Lusa’s military condition, we cannot afford any more loses.” Finished with his order he face Ilya.

“Ilya, I need you and your bow ready on my back. Though I only seek counsel, the man that I’m going to meet probably will ask dangerous errands.”

“As you wish, Milord.” She gives quick response while exiting the room.

Lago put his face in the enchanted water and become a splitting image of his master. Both of them immediately change their clothes. Lago wear Arken’s royal outfit while Arken change into a peasants clothing.

“Perfect disguise, it is too bad that I cannot control flame.” Said Arken commenting on his work.

“You should stick in the things you really good at, Milord.” Lago responded, only to be glared at by Arken and immediately change his word.

“May the flame of Fargo guide you in your journey, Alf the wanderer.”

Alf immediately leaves the castles without anyone’s eyes prying knowing that Lago will try to execute his order without fail and Ilya watches his back. He takes a stallion and rides rides towards his destination.

After a long time riding, he arrives in a village and walks to a house according to the information that he received. He never meets the man; only know where he is and know that he use the name Ophum. On his way, he crashed into a boy and a girl with blond hair and immediately leaving the scene unaware that he dropped his dagger.
Name: Kalen Norita

Age: 21

Race: Human(Or so he tells everyone)

Kingdom: Rogue Dungarian

Appearance: Kalen Stands at 6'0" with light brown hair and dark blue eyes. He has a scar on his right eye. He is very muscular and athletic. His eyes, when he looks at someone, look distance and cold.

Other information: He betrayed Dungary to help the people of Lusa. Some Lusians still don't trust him, but that is why Kalen tends to stick with those that do. Having the skill beyond what any can comprehend, even by Lusa and Dungary standards, he is very formidable in any battle.

***************

Kalen stood on the hillside overlooking most of Lusa. It was a beautiful place, what hadn't been completely wartorn. He enjoyed it here, and wished he could stay longer. But Kalen knew that he would never be able to stay and in one place for too long.

He turned back and walked toward the house of the family he was living with. He was unsure what the family's name was, but knew they were good people. And so he went. It was almost dinner, after all.
Cephlo and Karin were walking silently, they were both suprised. Ophum was unusually serious when he gave them this job. He even got mad at Karin when she said that it was boring.

"I mean, we only have to deliver a message to someone in the town...why did he get mad?" Karin seem to feel guilty, but frustrated at the same time.

"I dont know, maybe it has something to do with the war so he's worried."

"The war huh...I had nearly forgotten about it, in our village it seems like the whole world is at peace, you know what I-"

She was interupted by the sound of hasty footstep and as they rounded a turn to walk in the forest a man slamed into Cephlo who lost his balance and fell into Karin. The man looked at them and hurried off.

"A sorry would be nice," Karin mumbled to herself, but Cephlo heard her.

"He seemed to be in a hurry, but what does he have to hurry for in this village? Or better yet, how did he find it?"

Karin turn and looked at him, "Well it probably has nothing to do with us, let's just go," She said turning, "Hey look," she picked up a very expensive looking dagger.

"That guy had on clothes that suggested he couldnt afford this kind of thing..."

"Let's keep it, as compensation for running into us and not saying sorry."

"You know, that dagger could be very important to him."

She looked at him with eyes that said "if you even think about telling me to bring it back to him, I will stab you with this knife" and started walking in the forest.

The forest didnt have roads, only those that know it could find their way through it. That was another puzzling thing about the man that walked into them. They always chose the safest routes through this forest. On these routes it seemed like the wild animals just stayed clear of, like something was pushing them away.

They reached the town quicker than Cephlo expected. It was still peacful here, something that relieved Cephlo greatly. Karin was looking at the dagger that they picked up.

"You might want to put that away, with a dagger looking like that you might become a target for thieves."

"I know," she slipped it under her cloak, "lets go."

They walked into the town. According to Ophum they needed to go into a pub called Dancing Elves, niether of them knew why it was called that since no elves danced there. They entered the pub adn sat in the left corner table as they were told to and waited.
As they sat in the pub, Karin kept looking around, people seemed to avoid looking at them, "So, how long are we supposed to wait?"

"I dont know, I guess someone is going to meet us here."

"Well, they are taking lon-," once again Karin was interupted except this time it was a bag going over Ceph's and her head. She scream, but it was smothered by the bag. She felt herself lifted up and dragged somewhere. Her hand were roughly tied behind her and she felt the heat of the sun as they were brought outside.

They were lead somewhere for nearly an hour. When the bag were finally taken off, she was in a room with all the walls stone and no windows. The only form of light was a torch in the middle of the room.

"Where am I?" She asked to herself, she was scared, "Ceph? Are you there?" Her eyes wernt used to the dark yet.

"Yea, I dont know where here is though."

"Here," Karin jumped at the voice coming out of no where, "is where you both have only two choices."

Karin was getting scared, "Who are you?"

"I said you only have two choices, asking questions isnt one of them. Now, your two choices are either answer my questions and live or dont answer them and spend the rest of your life in a nice cell in Dungury."

Karin couldnt speak, Ophum had sent them here. Karin had wanted to see what was going on in the outside world but she didnt expect this.

"Now you seem a little suprised, but the great Dungurian army has already advanced this far, we have already taken the entire eastern half of Lusa. I must admit though, Lusa is a worthy adversary. Their armies may be small but they have many strong warriors, Lusa has already earned my respect," the man moved closer to Karin, she tried to back away only to find out that her hands had been chained to the floor, "Now Im going to keep you in her for a day, along with your friend, and let you two think about what you are going to do, answer and live or dont and spend the rest of your life in a hell." with that, he turned and left the room.
Kalin decided it best to stop in town to get a drink. After all, he had nothing better to do other than wait. The local pub was what some considered a nest for vermin and the like. Kalin didn't doubt it.

As he entered, he spotted two Lusians being bagged and taken upstairs. The men looked Dungarian. How could they be here? Kalin followed, careful to make sure he wasn't noticed. He overheard the conversation in the room.

The Eastern half of Lusa already under Dungary control. The Dungarians quickly closing in. That was the information that Kalin obtained from listening. But nothing else, other than the two Lusians being held there for the night.

Not if Kalin had anything to do with it. He waited until most of the men left. Two guards behind to make sure the prisoners didn't escape. Kalin gave about ten minutes to ensure that the leader was gone, then burst into the room.
It was time. Aldwulf had been waiting for too long. Much too long.

As he picked up his axes, he recalled how he had got himself into this mess. If only he had listened to the council he wouldn't be hunted right now.

"Have you gone insane," Aldwulf shouted at the man behind the desk. "Lusa is a country of our allies! They need our help, and you refuse to send troops? You have let the Dungarians scare you too much."

"Aldwulf, listen to me. I wish to respect the treaty that our kingdoms signed all thoe years ago," replied the man.

"So you are going to stand by and do nothing while Lusa is annihilated! The Dungarians will come for us next," Aldwulf argued.

"Lies come from your mouth," the council member proclaimed.

"Maybe you should listen to yourself once in a while. You will realise the taint that infests you." Aldwulf turned to walk away.

"Just where do you think you are going?" the man asked.

"I plan on going to help Lusa," Aldwulf said without turning around.

The council delcared him a rebel and placed a bounty on his head. Aldwulf opened his bag and examined the contents inside. Enough food and water to last for his trip to Lusa, and one other thing. He lifted it out of the bag.

It was his plate helmet. He only wore this when he needed to, deciding that it would prtect him better than his leather armor and skill with axes alone. "Will I really need this now?" he asked himself. After a few moments, Aldwulf made his decision. He placed the helmet on his head and started to run.
_____________________________________________

Aldwulf was in luck. In front of him was a small village. He had not made it very far in the hour he'd been running, and was exhausted. His very limits were being put to the test. However, right outside of one of the homes was a horse. It looked to be in good health and carry him far.

Pushing his second thoughts aside, he mounted the horse and took off. There would be time to think about this during the ride.
Aneria walked slowly among the trees. She could feel the life force pumping through them, like a beat of her own heart. She had known the kingdom that was Linua, and of its greatness and splendor. Her mother had grown up in that magic place but Aneria had been denied the privilege. This was an unforgiveable sin. Now Aneria had grown up struggling to use the magic from the trees and the plants to aid her. While her skill was not yet fine-tuned Aneria knew enough to get her through her days. Placing her hand on a trunk, she closed her eyes. The blue in her eyes seemed to give way to a silver light, but this was only a trick. No change happened to her body, though it seemed to glow more fervently.
Cephlo sat chained to the floor of the stone room. He heard Karin's deep breathing. Struggling against his chains he tried to move toward her.

"Hey, do you still have the thing we picked up from that guy?"

"And if I do, what is that going to help?" She asked, her voice breaking, "it cant go through chains."

Cephlo stayed silent, he really didnt know what to say. The town looked perfectly peaceful then they were dragged here. He was scared, and he didnt know how it was affecting Karin.

"Im going to kill Ophum when we get back," Cephlo looked at Karin, letting out a little laugh at her remark.

"Well, I think I'll help you with that."

"If we can get out of this first," she said, her voice shaking again.

"We will, we're goin-"

"How!? How are we going to?"

"Hey, dont get mad at me, let me think for a little bit."

Karin looked at Cephlo, "Well, think quick. We only have a day to get out of here."
