There Once was a Time

Here I am thinking back
I thought I had it all
But how was I to know
that there would be so much
I would lack

Such as thinking that
Deep unbridled, passionate love
was all you needed to keep your marriage strong
Wow. Was I wrong

Lord knows I tried
For sixteen years there was not one emotion
Or secret I would try to hide
Little did I know it wasn’t the same way
With the most important person in my life
But from what I learned this is the curse
Of a modern day husband and wife

Now I may sound bitter
But you aint heard nothing yet
So for all you people out there
Thinking you have it all maybe its time
For you to start to fret

That being said
Here’s my wish for all you folks
That cheat on your spouse
I hope that the heavens open up
And on your head falls that deck of cards
You chose to build your house

Until I feel better
I will keep writing about this issue
And for all you pretensious pricks
That don’t like that idea you can cry me a river
And blow your friggin’ brains out into a tissue
