the real me is beneath my lies
my heart is hidden, under disguise
learned to share it is unwise

met someone who could see me
claims his love for me, does he
I cry out in fear, leave me be

through my layers he finds a wall
can he break it, break it all
Oh damm, he can hear my heart call

I mean everything, he tells me again and again
takes his sword and cuts away all my pain
he proclaims his love will never wain

with his love I feel alive not dead
awakened to enjoy the passions of love in bed
then and there we are together forever...wed
...he found ME....

walking down my path of life
all these years been blindfolded
well no more not knowing what's ahead
I will see where I am going
decide what's right for me
choices are all mine to make
believe in myself is a challenge
I know I can make life good
no more listening to other's
negitive words, actions, thoughts
I will prove them all wrong
not just another Indian
single welfare mom, you see
no longer fullfilling the knowledge
of what people know about us
Im not a drinker, whore, sniffer
will not sell myself for drugs
still be an Indian without losing myself
only try to be the best me
following my own path with hope
I know I can do it, do it well
make my family proud
show the way to success
walk the path with head held high
until the end of the road
I will look back and see
the path I traveled was hard
but well worth the effort
