The Beast was wrought with the inhabitants of Freedom Land.
Freedom Land

The Beast was wrought with the inhabitants of Freedom Land.
It had followed them to distant lands far and near
Reigning constant terror on its people far from home,
But the people in Freedom Land did not take the Beast seriously;
And the Beast schemed and plotted to everyone’s detriment.

The Beast was vicious because its brother the green giant Grendel was killed
So it plotted and schemed to avenge his death!
As green as his brother was, so black was he
With bloodshot eyes and tongues that inspired the dark.

Days in, days out the people of Freedom Land ate, drank and danced
With no regard for the black Beast and its band.
As the inhabitants ate, drank and danced the Beast plotted.
Plotted he to stop the eating, drinking and dancing
While the King and people of Freedom Land slept.

No clouds in the skies
The birds were singing
The little inhabitants were playing
The old inhabitants were reaping
And the simple king of Freedom Land was visiting with the little inhabitants;
All was well!

The Beast rose from his den and darkness surrounded him
And over Freedom Land they flew that day.
No one saw the blackness approaching and they continued to play and reap.
Then the mountains shook
And everyone stood…
And darkness covered Freedom Land;
The King was taken to a fortress most strong
Whilst his subjects fled for fear for their lives;

And some died!
Died they did, as the Beast and his darkness surrounded the light.
The King a distant cousin of Beowulf pulled on his resolve and faced his people;
Confident, strong and powerful rarely was he ‘til he promised revenge.
The people cheered!

The King and his court planned and plotted for revenge;
And to the United Pilgrims they went,
Where Pilgrims from around the world
Supported the King and his planned attack;
They formed a band and to war they went;
Fighting the Beast and his band in their far off land.

And ran they did, into the mountains and valleys,
The terrain was harsh and full of caves
They searched and they bombed,
And they killed but the Beast was missing,
And although the Pilgrims did not kill the Beast, the mission was accomplished.

As it scattered the dark band far and wide
Freedom Land and the rest of the world were happy with the result;
The King and his court flushed from this success
Decided that they had to war with Ancient Land;
But prove they must that the Beast’s kin was a threat to them and the rest of world;
And proof they presented that the Beast kin was a threat to Freedom Land!

But the Pilgrims did not believe this!
And again Freedom Land presented proofs and again the Pilgrims did not believe them; But the all-powerful Freedom Land decided to fight the Beast’s kin on its own;
So to war they went again, but this time all alone.
They bombed and bombed, and many of the Beast’s kins they killed;
And in a rat-hole found them it’s mean King!
Everyone in Freedom Land rejoiced at a mission well accomplished.
The peoples in Ancient Land felt free at last!

Freedom Land celebrated
Ancient Land celebrated,
The new messiahs we were!
Happy were both at a mission accomplished.

But the weeks became months and months became years
Thus Ancient Land said “why are they still here?”
So fight they did amongst themselves
And fight they did against the Freedom Land warriors;
Suddenly, the war was no longer over,
It had only just begun!

Freedom Land no longer happy struggles to end this war.
They want back their land; their gold and their old mean King!
Freedom Land and the world now fearful of this constant fight;
As the king is unable to end the war, so unlike his cousin Beowulf;
The United Pilgrims look on and sigh as innocent lives are lost everyday;
And Freedom Land is no longer free as it lives daily in constant fear
Of the big black Beast and his band of darkness.
