But just for the moment, floating into oblivion... |
I feel like a trainer at a dog show, Dressed to impress, Confident I can win, My dog a filthy mutt Among purebred extraordinaires. I feel like a clown, Smile painted on my face, My exterior merely a show put on for others to laugh at, Something that is fake. I feel like an asteroid, Floating through space, Bound to plummet into the next atmosphere I come in contact with, But for the moment, Floating carelessly into oblivion... I feel like a lone wolf, Howling to the moon, Breaking the eerie silence night brings, Forever to be hated for what I am not. I feel like a child, Gazing up at the moon, Dreaming dreams that will never come true Hoping when there's nothing to hope for. I feel like an apple, A rotting apple, Sitting under a tree full of ruby beauties. I feel like a tiny seed, Floating through the air, Tossed and turned with a force I cannot control, Gliding among great oaks That I might never become. I feel like a crow in a flock of lovebirds, Ugly and alone, Loved by no one, A nuisance to all. |
