Once Upon a December

he snow so pure and white...
On this cold winters night...
Stars shine in the sky...
Up so very high...

Snow covered trees of green...
Like no one has ever seen...
A moon so full and clear...
It could bring a tear...

Her skin, so soft and pale...
Her eyes so clear even through a gale...
Her flowing hair...
Floating gently in the air...

We walk side by side...
As my emotions go on a ride...
Feelings run through my head...
Feelings I thought were dead...

I take her hand in mine...
And hope it will be fine...
She looks at me in a blush...
As the world is in a hush...

Her face towards me...
Her beautiful eyes I see...
I place my hand on her cheek...
My eyes hold the answers she seek...

Her soft skin under my fingertips...
As I softly kiss her lips...
The world melts away...
Can’t tell if its night or day...

I cannot see a thing...
But my hearts about to sing...
She places her hands on my chest...
As I try and do my best...

When I finally pull away...
There is nothing to say...
She smiles and leans in to me...
As the world comes back for me to see...

I stare in to the sky...
As I feel I can fly...
I softly kiss her forehead...
As she yawns, ready for bed...

I carry her to her bed...
And she lays down her head...
She asks to lay with me...
And that’s how it came to be...

As I lay my head down to sleep...
I pray for this memory to keep...
A night I will always remember...
