The pothole

The pothole

We were desperate
running out of time
money had vanished
not even a dime

Foods that we had
was coming to an end
something had to change
something had to bend

Our family and friends
were a blessing in disguise
they helped us out
much to our surprise

They opened their hearts
their house we could stay
the food that they had
for many a day

The pains we suffer
the closeness we gained
trying not to show
all of our shame

My children and I
should not live this way
but sometimes it happens
when your life is in disarray

It's nice to know
there's someone who cares
someone to love you
someone who shares

It's better to know
that in this dificult life
someone is watching you
He helps you to survive

Our God, Our Lord
never leaves our side
never makes us feel
like we need to hide

I look at our lives
and I can't believe
all of the obstacles
that we have achieved

My children and I
had it rough for a while
and now with our new house
we have love and can smile

Thank you Lord
for our family and friends
for walking with us
and filling our pothole in
