A search for truth, the longing inside.
Window

Have you ever been looking out the window?
Staring, hoping to find something real
Longing for something, that is true
Trying to find something, that explains
I have…
I don’t find truth
I get bored staring out finding nothing
No answers… yet

So I turn, looking around my room
The TV talks about aliens
I laugh
The schoolbooks talk about religion
I laugh
The newspaper claims truth
The scientist claims truth
Whom to believe?

My eyes find their way back to the window
Asking with a careful voice:
“Is there any truth out there?
Which doesn’t have to say it is?
But truly is?”
Darkness closes in
A teardrop finds its way down my cheek
Hitting my lips

A salty taste
Makes me more thirsty for truth
The stars are looking down at me
A TV program tells me how huge the universe is
Even the world is enormous to me
I feel so small
I am just a little man, out of billions of others who have lived here
Am I nothing?

A thought is born in me
“I am a piece in a puzzle
I’m needed…
Who needs me?
Where do I fit in the puzzle?”
Something grabs my heart
A feeling of love comes upon me
Indescribable love

I fight
I fall down, I cry
“What is this? Who is there?”
Comfort and peace fill me
A voice speaks
“I am your father, you are my child.
I have not left you alone; I am with you.
My beloved!”

Truth has hit me
Straight in the face
I never expected it
Different from anything I could imagine
Unconditional love
He blows life into His love letters
The word of my father, a dusty book laying on my shelf
I start to read

My brain struggles to understand.
My deceived heart
Corrupting His word
Love breaks the walls down one by one.
It frees my thoughts taken captive by evil
I see the false, I embrace the truth!
It hurts, joy, indescribable… Love!
I am loved!

This is truth!
