I wrote this poem six years pulled from memory don't rember the last line for now
Life was great when I was a kid
I innocently played at the park
Before riding to the beach after dark
To cool off in the Atlantic Ocean
I floated there on the surface in a motion
With friends who shared the same devotion
Happiness was the emotion
Soaking rays, catching waves,
Looking at the world through a stoned haze
That was before the craze
Of fastlane life set in
Before the gin and the sin
Never again can I go back to alife without this pain
The joys of playing in the rain are far gone now
Don't ask me how cause I do not know
I just go down this path I chose to travel
Watching as my world begins to unravel
Being crushed like gravel I visialize
And then I realize that the cries
Coming from my mothers eyes
Will never stop flowing
It's hard knowing this will never fade
I had it made in the shade as a youth
Yet the cruel truth is written in stone
Destined to spend my life alone
I roam through the morning's glory
Filled with pain and fury
