~BIRD~

If I was but a bird ~
I'd fly

On wings of gold~
I'd rule the sky.

I'd weave and swoop,
I'd bob and soar.
And then, once done,
would do them more.

I'd whisper thoughts unto the wind
and glorify the sun;
I'd worship night's sweet lullaby
when the day was done.

Lo, saddened thoughts do cross my mind -
Oh what my soul would give to be:
A beautiful creature ~ golden-winged,
A bird~
A creature free.
