Just something I wrote one day after watching and reading on Iraq.
How can we change a cast iron world
Forged in the blood of our own dead families
How can we ever forget the cries we hear when we cast out our souls
to call for peace with weapons of death falling on the deaf

We are right and they are wrong as we all know
blinded by our ignorance of the world and the feelings of others

The shallow soul of a leader
The bottomless heart of a warrior
the endless love of a mother
the warning cry of our children
The time we don't have
The money we do have

Hate
consuming

it can't be us
The righteous and free
it's the evil spirits we cannot see

calling us out into the dark
making us do the devil's work
we follow quietly with closed eye's
so the rich can get the only prize
