A poem that I wrote in reflection, some years after the 9/11 catastrophe.
The tranquil blue sky,
Ruptured with plumes of grey
The peaceful morning gaze,
Reflecting on the pain.

The two colossal towers,
Submerged to dust
The pleasant sunshine,
Distraught by tragic flame.

The cool city breeze,
Ripped apart by smoke
The tantalising skyline,
Littered with disaster.

The world watches,
Transfixed by horror
The world mourns,
Engaged by death.

The people's faces,
Burning with dismay
The people's eyes,
Indescribable.

The terror remains,
Silent echoes in the wind
The hatred born,
Unforgivable.

The memory reigns,
As history it will lay
The mind shall never let grasp,
Of that September Day.
