Child caught sneaking into his house
Quiet, quiet, for all can’t bear the sound,
For all I know their parading around.
Hold your breath, start to rise,
Listen to hear any clear their eyes.

Hold, wait, listen to the quakes,
Stop, still wait for the time to break.
Walk steady on slow toes,
Crouched moving, eyes to resting boys.

Tilt your head, grant them time,
Quell all thoughts of rushing this crime.
Glance away towards your prize,
Start moving, look at it’s size.

Room ahead, darkened in night,
Take your time or lose it’s sight.
Still you move, cautious and grave,
Hands shake, starting to crave.

Body tensed, muscles cramped,
Little more, footsteps vamped
Hard to move at this pace,
Edging forward seemingly endless race.

Echoes clangor off bland wall,
Footsteps ahead, try to move from the hall.
Figure silhouetted, with a grim look,
Captured again, my parents caught the crook.
