I was a member here once before I wrote this poem then its my best so here it is again.
Like a phoenix I rise out
of the ash of a broken love.
As I flap my fiery wings against
this blackest of nights, I wonder
will the fire that lights my soul
ever burn as bright. Slowly I circle
the pile of ash and soot, it is all
that is left of the blaze that consumed
our love. Reluctant to leave yet knowing
I can't stay I circle once more in fiery
flight. Then with a force of will that I
never dreamed I posessed. I ever so slowly
fly off into the night ever fearful that
I am leaving behind not only our love but the
fire in my soul that I cannot live without.
