Advesperascit means "it grows dark" in Latin. |
Advesperascit -- It grows dark, The shadows walk and creep. Twilight falls on marble halls While they sit and bleed and weep. Winter comes and comes to stay, An eternity of darkest days, For solstice came to claim its own And so it stays until the stone Is mixed with dirt as fine, crushed sand -- A fitting thing for a dark wasteland Cold as the ocean's deepest part And dry of life sprung from the heart. Advesperascit -- It grows dark, The shadows twirl and dance. Twilight falls on marble halls While they move in listless trance. Ice is there and deep within; Jack Frost calling all his kin. Demons dancing in their souls And they know not how very cold Their frozen bodies soon will be For they are deaf, nor can they see The shadowed army creeping near. They cannot know the thing they fear. Advesperascit -- It grows dark, The king of carnage come. Soon the halls will doubtless fall Destroying more than some. The endless army still draws near And in stone hearts a growing fear. Steel insides frozen, turned to lead, With winter's water and dark dread. Advesperascit knows no time, Knows no rhythm, knows no rhyme. Only knows the magic deep Of shades that scream and wail and weep. The certain listless surety That midnight always soon will be. |
