Destiny in love
MY DESTINY: a kyrielle

When I saw her for the first time,
tender beauty, in her youth prime,
I thought she was made just for me,
that she was my true destiny.

I courted her for a long time,
dreaming that wedding bells would chime,
till finally it dawned on me;
she was not my true destiny.

I then resigned myself to fate
and, for love, I developed hate.
The feeling took root inside me
that bleak was my true destiny.

When I was older, more mature,
I came across a girl once more,
who kindled love again in me,
who could be my true destiny.

No courtship, no evening, no night;
With her it was love at first sight.
I had not a doubt within me,
she would be my true destiny.

We, being now married so long,
truly to each other belong.
I know He has truly blessed me
and given me my destiny.
