Day with Daisies

You sit in a field of yellow daisy,
Looking upon the clouds so lazy.
Thinking of how they have changed your life,
Singing and laughing with no sign of strife.

Just to be sitting next to someone,
With whom you can share all the fullness of fun.
Thinking they'll never stray from your heart,
Content to believe you never will part.

Smile because you reside in their prayers,
And they are the center of all of your cares.
Dwelling not on what tomorrow may bring,
But instead enraptured by a song you two sing.

Music that reaches the core of your soul,
Without it, without them, no way to be whole.
Walking a day without them in sight,
Is a bird without wings, yearning for flight.

Seeing them smile because they see you,
Knowing that's exactly what they're seeing, too.
Show them a flower, the beauty within,
Tell them it's nothing, like dust on the wind.

Because just to spend one glorious day,
A lifetime of flowers could never repay.
Snuggle up closer as the sun starts to set,
A day with the daisies you'll never forget.
