A poem about love's perplexing questions |
Questions Why do laughter and crying seem to sound so much alike Why must we first know the darkness to appreciate the light Why does a heart yearn for love which it knows won’t last forever Why is it after we’re hurt in love of love we are so clever How can hearts bleed for love when love has caused those hearts to bleed, why does love seem as much as air to be a constant need Why is it that what we seem to want is what seems we’ll never know, why is it we hold on to we really should let go How can hate be so obvious, yet love be so misleading, why is what’s often in our face is what we regret not seeing How can we look beyond what may be love in search of something else and when we don’t find it how can it be we never blame ourselves Why is a true bond between a person and heart is a bond you cannot break, why does the object of our desire usually leaves behind heartache How can one search for love so long and love they do not find, and why is this buried treasure then constantly on their mind How can what we stretch our arms to hold it seems we’ll never grasp, and will there ever be a answer to these questions I may ask?
