Paradise Flew Away

All I wanted was your attention,
to hold onto your sweet affection,

to share some laughs and wise words,
but your mind wanders like a bird,

searching for that elusive worm,
never satisfied, you always yearn,

for something other than my embrace,
looking for another's new face.

What more can I possibly do or say,
my heart can't keep living this way,

so fly free you wanton bird of lust,
and find what it is that you must,

but never return to this lonely nest,
for freedom suits you and I the best.
