Love is eternal.....so is vengence.
The snowflakes sparkled like diamonds as they fell to the ground. Glancing up I could barely see the moon through the curtain of falling gems. Shaking my head I continued deeper into the forest. I hurried because I could sense the villagers behind me. Silent tears slid down my cheeks as I made my way through the dense trees. My heart ached to see him again but I knew it was impossible.

"She went this way, hurry!"

My heart skipped a beat as I recognized that voice. Father? My own father hunts me now. He, as well as the villagers, thinks me a monster. I am not, but that doesn't quell the bloodlust in their hearts. They want to blame someone, why not the widow of a monster.

I have not done anything to deserve this! I screamed inside my mind. I've helped those who needed it. I've healed those who were sick and this is what I get in return!

My tears dried, sorrow no longer heavy in my heart only anger remained.

"How could they," I hissed while I continued though the snow, now rising to my knees.

"Mira..."

What was that? I looked up into the trees, but nothing hid among their crystal branches.

As I turned I could see an opening in the trees and beyond that I only saw shadows. I felt as if I was being drawn towards that darkness by something...familiar.

"Mira come to me..." The voice flowed through me once again; the richness warming my body.

"Could it be?" I whispered as I made my way to the opening. As I walked through I glimpsed a dark figure at the center. My feet did not slow; they did not touch the snow as I floated toward the shadow.

My heart nearly stopped as I saw the silhouette, I cried out in joy, disbelief. "No, you can not be him! You can not be my Lucien!" Tears streamed down my rosy cheeks. I stepped closer fearing this was a dream.

The dark figure smiled down at me. He was clothed in literal darkness as obsidian colored wings adorned his back. His hair blew around him covering his body in strands of snow and darkness.

"Please do not cry, my love. I have come back for you." His voice was a gentle caress against my heart.

I stared up into his dark eyes, seeing swirls of silver as he gazed down at me. "I thought you were dead." I whispered as I stepped into his open arms.

He held me close. Warmth surrounding me, the bitter cold disappearing; the sounds of the villagers were no more...

"I saw the villagers hurt you, I saw them..." tears began to flow once again.

"Shh, my love. .." His voice flowed through me making me shiver.

I snuggled closer, "I want them to pay for what they did to you...," my voice bitter.

Lucien chuckled and held me back. He smiled down at me and that was the first time that I saw them.

"Your wish is my command," he lowered his head and sank his fangs into my willing neck.

I moaned in pleasure as his voice caressed my mind, "yes my love they will pay with their lives."
