A poem about the state of the world today! With a message.
Which Candle Will You Light?

Measure injustices with candles; the world is alight.
For every nation that strives for greatness at all costs,
Will trade all for weapons to do it; another candle.
Fear that stems from those who strive
Breeds desperate, drastic desire to join the arms race; another candle.

Men will die: not nations, not as often as they kill.
Do they wonder about the families misguided faith in terrorism destroys?

Do they see the pain of the extinguished candle of life
As they set aflame another candle of injustice?

Excruciating! Instantaneous death! The candle of innocence by the candle of war.
Children forced to fight a war they never believed in; another candle.
Fear is instinctual, no place in war, fight or die.

Watch as the heroes arrive, those who save no matter what.
There aren’t enough. Heroes fail. We must join them.
Buckle your belt of truth, slip into shoes of peace.
Let’s extinguish the candles of darkness, together, the family of God.
Peace keeping is paramount, for it is God’s will.
All men to live in harmony; love our brothers and sisters.
Stop the fighting. Crush candles of darkness. Honour the Lord your God.
Follow Jesus: cradle candles of truth, hope, faith and above all love.
