Angry, but like a cat with no claws
Wanting to scratch and tear
But too helpless to react
Sitting by the door waiting to pounce
On the outside looking in
Yet afraid the enemy will fight back.
I'm wanting so desperately to show you
How strong I am
But my defenses are always down
You caught me with my claws in
Hurt and tired,
Too late to react.
