Poem i wrote about War |
Circumcision of War Watch the bombs fall from the sky! The night air flickers and it flashes so bright Shadows dressed in camo crawl through the rubble of homes and the ashes of mothers The smell of a stinking corpse, of rotting flesh, of death lingers a heavy aroma in the air The taste of a gut wrenching sickness thickly fills the throat of a regurgitative stomach, while it does a kick and a flip when you get that nose filled smell of burnt children Women in dark robes let out a heartbreaking cry in the distance A call for their lost children… A call for their families… A call of sorrow and grief… BOOM! Another bomb flies through the sky BANG BANG! Shots awake the babies that dream of a better world in a deep slumber Red fills the streets with the blood of men Men who will never go home Men who will never see their wives and children Who will never push their baby on a plastic red swing No celebrated their daughter or son’s fifth birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese Little girls and boys huddles together in alleyways Orphans who have no home to go to because it was blown to smithereens People lay on the streets… A blank, glassy eyed stare leaves a message that there is no soul living there anymore Another solider has died tonight… A man crying, saying, “I want to go home” Politicians sit in a nice comfy armchair A warm fireplace crackles in their big wonderful mansions Safe from harm, miles away from danger Sipping the sweet nectars of an expensive wine, and laughing at today’s headline “Republicans and Democrats seek out a date to bring our soldiers home” Raising hope… Dishing out disgusting lies… Meanwhile they still can’t wash the blood from their hands, of their fellow Americans |
