Dream?
I do not dare to dream;
Nay, dreams are like fire.
They burn, but
I am only a bug
Drawn in by the flame.
I cannot resist,
I must press onward,
Despite the heat,
I will continue forward,
To the roaring
Of the flames, like
A war-beat;
Out of the silence
That covered me like
Death's arms.
And closer towards the light.
Dream?
I do not dare to dream;
My wings are scorched,
So now I may not fly.
I will not even
Think of flying.
I will be content
On lying here,
Earth-bound,
As though I were
In my grave already...
And maybe, it would
Be best if I were.
